Cuppers is a very popular university wide tournament which is open to all university students, not just OUTTC members. The tournament will be run throughout the Hilary term. Unfortunately, there are no longer any singles tournaments, as past players have preferred to play in teams. The basic arrangements for these events are as follows:

Team Competition

Each team should consist of at least two players from the same college. Several teams can enter from one college, but players being shared between teams is not allowed. The competition will be run in groups followed by a knockout. The match format is two singles games, plus one doubles. Matches should be played at the college of one of the teams, but if this is not possible then the match can be played at Iffley, on one of the practice nights. The cost of team entry is £5. The cost of entry is being used to fund the purchase of better tables, balls, and nets for players.

Men's and Women's singles competition - Currently discontinued

All rounds are knockout. Play at Colleges where possible, if not Iffley. Entry is free for all.

The entry fees are as cheap as possible and are necessary for the provision of extra balls and for prizes for the winners, runners up etc.

To enter a team, or the singles competition, can you please send the following details to Philip Hartley at philip.hartley@lincoln.ox.ac.uk:

1. Name (s)

2. College

3. Email Address (es)

4. Competition entering

The payments should be pidged to Anthony Chuah at Harris Manchester College, or handed to a member of the committee at one of the practice sessions. Please make it obvious who you are paying for! Cash is probably easiest, but you can also pay by cheque if you want to (payable to 'Oxford University Table Tennis Club').

The deadline for entry will be in Hilary term, with early entries really appreciated. Obviously more details about fixtures and match arrangements will follow, after the entry deadline.
